The last of my Rome posts. Slightly late too, as I somehow forgot about this hiding away in my drafts. It seems like ages ago now, and I'm already dying for a holiday, this time relaxing by a pool with a lengthy book, ah, I'd do anything for a week off. I've just started working in Neuro Rehab and its beyond physically demanding and I take back everything I ever knew about hard work. I'm exhausted and I barely recognise myself, but somehow, I bloomin' love it so far.
I'm rubbish at hair, but this day my future sis-in-law had put a little french plait behind my fringe - Its so cute, and I just wish I could do things like this to mix things up now and then. Someone must have a dummys guide?
Anyway! Ancient Rome, awe inspiring and thought provoking. I found the colosseum particularly strange (if not a bit ruined). Dan came over all emotional and spoke of all the victories that took place here, whilst I was filled with sadness of all the innocent people that were killed purely for entertainment. The utter desperation they must have felt, and how I'll probably, and hopefully never know anything close. Ah, perspective.
You can see pictures from the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps here, and some of the Vatican and amazing Sistine Chapel here! Have you been to Rome?
