Toni & Guy Reverse Conical Wand £30 *

I seem to have a never ending supply of hair supplies, yet all I seem to do is straighten it, so another curling wand shouldn't have made much of a difference. But theres something different about this one from Toni & Guys casual collection. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll probably have seen that I've been wearing my hair curlier than usual, and thats down to the arrival of this reverse conical wand arrived a couple of weeks ago.

The wand itself is a narrow 13mm at one end, and a bigger 23mm towards the bottom, meaning that the curls get looser towards the ends. Now, before I used the wand I was trying to figure this out in my head, and I really couldn't see it ending well. Tight curls at the top of my head and wavy at the bottom? Erm, that just sounds odd. Obviously though, you can see thats not quite how it turned out, and instead the curls loosen towards the ends. These pictures show the results of my 'first attempt,' and after curling, I ran my fingers through the curls and lightly sprayed some Macadamia control spray, letting them fall out into waves towards the end of the day. I actually prefer how the curls look after a day, and they look even better the next morning!

A beachy, casual look I reckon, although complete with a burnt thumb and shoulder this time! The wand does actually come with a pretty decent glove, but admittedly, I took it off after getting frustrated - I couldn't be bothered to swap hands as I got to the other side of my head, and it felt odd separating hair through a glove. Not entirely worth it for burns, so I'd recommend wearing it - It does get hot!

Most importantly, its really easy to use! Honestly, if a cack handed fool like me can make something decent out of this, its worth every penny. I couldn't even get the hand of a standard conical wand!

Have you tried something like this?
What do you think?
