As Lee Evans would say, you know you're getting old when you stop talking about how many hours you partied last night, and start talking about how many hours sleep you got, instead. That may be the case, but I see my bed as somewhere to put everything at rest. I can stay up until the early hours working on my dissertation and my bed will always be ready and waiting, offering warmth and comfort, mmm.
Dan and I invested in a super king size shortly after I moved in. We figured that, half of your entire life is spent in bed, so it might as well be as comfortable as it can be. We also splashed out on a super king size feather duvet (which I turned out to be allergic to), and Dunlopillo pillows. We've both wasted so much money on pillows that flattened after a month and its a false economy! We've had these pillows for over a year now, and they're still exactly the same shape as they were the day we bought them, and I've not had neck ache since.
On my bedside table I keep a bottle of ThisWorks pillow spray, some old photos of my best friend and I, a candle, a rubber duck (why not)? and a small handmade bowl from Kefalonia, I keep hair ties and a few kirby grips in there. I won't lie, it usually gets cluttered around here too.
Fashion for Home most recently treated me with this amazing rug, our latest addition. I've had rugs before but have tended to go for the cheaper ones at Ikea which flatten quickly. Nothing could have prepared me for how this rug feels - Its incredibly thick pile, and your toes literally disappear within it. Instant cosy points, right there. I now want everything on the Fashion for Home site, d'oh.
Fashion for Home are currently running a photo competition, which closes on the 18th April (My birthday too, folks)! You can read more about the competition here, but basically all you need to do is snap a photo of your favourite spot in your home.
Wheres your favourite spot at home?
