What I Wore // Date Night!

Dress - Love @ Topshop
Necklace - Tesco
Shoes - Topshop

I actually wore this simple outfit a couple of weeks ago but held of posting it. I wasn't sure about how I looked, but following this post, I figured I should practice what I preach and flaunt the hips and thighs, wahoo! I wore this on our designated date night. Dan and I have both been so busy recently, as his business has been on groupon (and sold a whopping 254 photography sessions), and I'm on medical placement whilst trying to complete final year work, bleugh. Its nice to get together and have loads to talk about though, rather than sitting at home not doing so much!

Anyway, I know that being a pear shape, I much suit skirts and dresses to jeans, but being 5'10" means its difficult to find lengths that are flattering. I don't like anything too close to my knees, but I don't particularly like to flash even my best underwear either. If this dress was just a teensy bit longer, I think it'd perfectly cover up the chunkier part of my thighs. But hey, legs are legs, and shape isn't a bad thing, no?
Also, this gorgeous dress cost me £13.00 in the sale in Topshop - I think I can forgive the lack of an extra inch. I do find that Love are the worst offenders with short dresses, but this one isn't too bad!

I picked up this necklace in Tesco and I'm glad I did! I was wearing it during the day before changing into this dress and liked how it looked, so left it on. It seems to go with anything - its statement, without being too chunky. A girl can never have too much costume jewellery!

  2. I know how you feel I'm 5'8 so have the same problem and Love do such gorgeous dresses, if only they were an inch or two longer. That one does look lovely though!
