I was recently sent an awesome party pack courtesy of Ladbrokes, which consisted of an array of goodies such as a pizza hut voucher, cocktail shaker and recipe books, goodies to make pretty drinks, a disposable camera, a poker set, indoor sparklers and Casino Royale on dvd, phew! University is stressful at the moment, (as always), so I forced myself to take a day off to spend with Dan and have fun with the pack. First off we went to Milton Keynes to do a spot of Christmas shopping, look at the displays, and stop for lunch at the Pizza Hut buffet before coming home to chill out. Which obviously first requires removal of make up and the wearing of a super soft onesie, so do excuse the less-than-glam pictures, we've all been there after all!
Its so miserable outside recently. Frankly, its grim. So, we decided to try and bring summer inside a little bit by sticking palm trees in our mince pies and summery umbrellas in our drinks. We made long island iced tea (my favourite), and then switched to fruity cider and raspberry lemonade as we didn't have ingredients for more cocktails, oops! I've never actually made cocktails properly before so it was quite fun, despite being rubbish at it. Usually though, I would just chuck a load of ingredients together to form some sort of daring punch and it rarely turns out well. Something to practice for sure!

Then, we roped in our housemate, (who fancies himself as a bit of a poker buff), in for a good poker session. Now, my poker playing is even worse than my cocktail making, thanks to my obvious excitement and disgust - But thats all part of the fun, I was never going to win anyway was I?
After a good laugh we settled on the sofa to watch Casino Royale with what my parents used to call a 'fuddle.' Lots of indulgent junk food to snack on throughout. Does anyone else do this for films? We've only recently seen Skyfall, (which is amazing by the way), so it was great to snuggle up and watch some more bond - I had full intentions to make Dan and my housemate watch Elf too, but it seems the gin caught up with me and I fell asleep before Bond even finished, oops!
I really need to rethink how I have fun - I usually venture out of the house seeking fun - I struggle to escape the guilt of not doing any work at home, or just end up slobbing around. But actually, Thanks to Ladbrokes, I've realised its actually quite nice to have something specific to do at home where you can have a mini-party in the comfort of your onesie and save money. Its the little things, eh?
What do you do for an entertaining night in? I need more ideas!
