SAMY Fat Hair 0 Calories Shampoo & Conditioner // Review

Samy Fat Hair Shampoo & Conditioner - Both for £6.99 at Superdrug

I've forever been sick of buying into hair washing products that promise the world of volume and deliver sod all.

The duo don't have the best fragrance in the world, and the shampoo is quite difficult to work with, and doesn't really lather as I'd like - But you know what? This is the first shampoo and conditioner duo I have ever used that have provided my hair with a boost of volume. I've always failed to obtain this without endless amounts of back-combing, volume sprays, wax and mousse and the effort required and the disappointment after the masses of products end up weighing my hair down further. My hair is so fine, limp and lifeless, and I'm no professional when it comes to hair styling - I just want an easy fix.

You can see how my hair looked after using it here; it has a lot more  'oomph' as opposed to here. The Samy shampoo and conditioner does come with downsides though. Although my hair feels so thick and full of life that I barely know what to do with it,  it also feels dry. Very dry. My hair is already in poor condition, so using this more than once a week is a strict no-no for me. It'd be great if I could use this every time I wash my hair and forever love my thick hair, but I do feel like I'd be causing a lot of damage in the long run and its just not worth it.
Every so often though, I do feel like its worth taking the hit for voluminous hair with little effort - just because I am so desperate for thick hair that I otherwise struggle to achieve! This will always need to be compensated with a deep condition and tonnes of hair oil the next time I wash my hair after using it!

Have you used this Shampoo & Conditioner, what do you think?Have you found any great volumising shampoos?

  3. The best value for money range I've found so far is the Tresemme 24 hour body range. I may have to give this one a try to see how it works out on my limp hair.

I'll look out for this to use on special occasions I think.

  5. Ahhh, damn, so annoying that it dries out your hair, I got really excited when I saw that it actually worked! There's always a price to pay, isn't there!
I must say, most of the volumising shampoos and conditioners I've tried don't make the slightest bit of difference to my hair - the only thing that does is Tresemme's Sky High PlumpingPowder, but it leaves my hair feeling so sticky and there is no getting around having to wash your hair again a few hours later :(
I think I'm going to give these a try anyway as perhaps with regular hair masks it's possible to find a balance....fingers crossed!

  6. It's such a shame that it left your hair feeling dry - maybe keep it for special occasions? Sounds like we have similar hair, but I've yet to find anything that works! xx
