What I Wore // The forgotten yellow coat

I first laid eyes on this coat when I was around 17 or 18 and fell in love with it. I walked around the shopping centre all day trying to forget about it but went back at the end of the day to try it on again and came up with excuses as to why the £120 price tag was justified and thus I must buy it, as you do. It was reduced from £200, Its an investment piece, its gorgeous! I remember ringing my mum and asking her how much her favourite suede jacket cost, and after she told me it set her back around £250, I decided that I was definitely buying myself this jacket.

I must add, before the age of 18 I'd refused to wear a dress through pure hatred of my hips, and instead absolutely always wore jeans and a top with converse usually. You could say I was a bit of a tomboy for most of my younger years. I only really became remotely interested in fashion and make-up around that age, way behind my peers, so this coat was a pretty big thing for me to buy considering that I wasn't really used to spending my money on anything other than Lush, I saved the rest. I remember spending £50 on a dress for my 18th birthday and thinking how expensive it was! I wasn't really used to buying clothes.

I love this floral crown - So unlike anything I've ever worn before, I'm a recently convert to hair accessories and Sophie makes such beautiful handmade pieces.

Coat - Karen Millen
Blouse - Matalan
Jeans - River Island
Headband - Crown & Glory

My boyfriend took these photos before heading over to my parents house - He wanted to try something new and specifically requested I wore my yellow coat for a pop of colour - I haven't worn it for so long!

Whats the first 'expensive' thing you remember buying? Do you still love it?

  7. That coat is lush, totally worth the price-tag as it will be a timeless piece in your wardrobe for as long as you shall live :) Trenchy-type coats never go out of fashion. Spend justified :D

  8. I love the coat...! Karen Millen's stuff is always great quality too; I've got a few bits from there. I nearly bought a bright yellow trench from, er, M&S years ago, but I was a student and it was £80 and I don't really look good in yellow so I passed. I still think about it though!

    Beautiful photos!

  17. I'm sorry people today for writing thank you letters! Since yesterday all day, I was dizzy and dizzy so I did not concentrate on writing. Indeed, I am very happy that yesterday I received almost a hundred greetings on facebook and the phone. My friendlist has only 4999 friends so I am happy to read how many unloved, listen to how many good songs. Facebook is awesome! My grandparents and brother also called to greet me so I was happy.
