Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint

I've been a fan of Liz Earle's skincare for a long time, so I leapt at the chance to try the outcome of their first step into skin colour.

I was expecting something between a foundation and a tinted moisturiser and, I was right. The skin tint is not as sheer as the Lancome tinted moisturiser I usually used or others I've tried, but is a small step up regarding coverage, and exactly what I needed to add to my skincare and make up collection.

I apply the product with my fingers, and find that it blends effortlessly. I do think that a lot of tinted moisturisers sink into pores and emphasise them, but I truly believe that I look like I have no make up on when I wear this. The coverage is not enough to cover my blemishes, but I didn't expect it to be at all, as after all, this is what foundation is for, right? It does, however, even out my complete lack of tone. So, my skin looks a lot better than without make up, but I still look like I have none on whatsoever, this can only be a bonus!

The finish is dewy and somewhat radiant. I have to say though, that it does look a bit greasy when applied to my oily/combination skin, and the first time I tried it I panicked and dusted on some pressed powder, still managing to look natural, but matte. The second time, however, I left it to see how it settled, and it definitely adds a healthy, luscious glow. I prefer a matte finish though, so I'll be wearing this with a sweeping of powder that barely adds to the application time.

Personally, I love the skin tint, but it doesn't quench my thirst for coverage. Instead, it allows me to feel sneakily natural, and for that reason, it will be replacing my Lancome tinted moisturiser from here onwards.. I'll definitely be using this product for lazy days, camping, holidays, late night trips to Tesco's with my boy (Everyone does it, right)? And for days where I just can't be bothered to apply make up.

The £21 skin tint comes in three shades, and 02 is perfect for me who normally wears a Lancome 010, Estee Lauder Ecru/01, or Mac NW15. However, with each purchase is sent out three sample sizes of each shade, to ensure a perfect skin match before you open the product itself.

  1. Fantastic photos! I've seen quite a few reviews of this product but yours really stands out imo :) It looks really good but I don't make enough money to justify spending so much on 1 product, damn ): I do think it's great that they give you samples first though, more companies need to do that! :D x

  5. It's so hard to find a good shade for my skin, but maybe the paler one could work.. :)
